Farm Updates:
We’re heading into our third week of shares, and wow—this snow came in stronger than we expected! While the temperatures are brisk, both farmers and crops are thriving. Pick-up will proceed as planned, and we’ve ensured a clear, plowed path to guide you through the farm. Important note: Please enter through the Old Marlboro Pike entrance. The other entrance is closed due to unsafe conditions—we want to keep everyone safe and sound!
Winter farming is all about perseverance and precision growing fresh, nutrient-packed food during this season is an art in itself. Each farm faces unique challenges and solutions to make it happen, but for us, it’s worth every effort when we see these beautiful crops come to life.
This week's juicy fennel bulbs are so flavorful and versatile. Try an easy fennel salad with apples and goat cheese, or roast fennel with sweet potatoes for an awesome side dish.
Note also, many who don't like the licorice flavor raw fennel brings, you may enjoy fennel after it's been roasted or sautéed. It helps it mellow into a sweet, mild, celery-like flavor. Stretch a pasta dish, soup, lasagna, or roasted meat further with fennel!
