Farm Updates

As summer is progressing, it has been wonderful to have these rainy days. With it will come some more split fruits, but for now, we will not complain about the consistent summer showers. It has also helped us breathe some in regards to irrigation as we just added our Fall root crops to the mix out in the fields to be maintained.

Photographed above, you will see we are filling up in our high tunnel to be transplanted soon into one of our prepared fields. It can seem like it would be too hot in this high tunnel, but with the sides rolled up, shade cloth, watering twice a day, and some very large fans, this place seems like a fall haven for these greens and us farmers!

This week we dive deeper into our summer crops as we expect this rain to have helped with plant growth. The shades of summer are truly colorful, with our summer squash making a return and a variety of peppers coming in. The CSA spread are going to be a vibrant mix of greens, yellows, reds, purples and oranges, showcasing the season's beauty.

Our farm crew has been busy in the kitchen too, making delicious sauces, salsas, and sun-dried tomatoes with our fresh produce. We’d love to know what our shareholders are creating with their shares. Share your culinary creations on our Instagram @cbfclagettfarm – we can’t wait to see what you’ve been making!
